Tons of Money is a fast-moving hilarious farce. Originally one of the Aldwych Farces performed in the 1920s and since updated by Alan Ayckbourn, the basic story revolves around Aubrey Allington, an unsuccessful inventor and his wife Louise who are badly in debt.
Aubrey inherits a fortune, which reverts on his death to his cousin George. As George is thought to have died abroad, Aubrey hits upon the brilliant idea of pretending to die so that he can impersonate his cousin and avoid payment of his debts.
